In the 1970s Dr Oskar Heil demonstrated a loudspeaker named “TransAr” and it fascinated me greatly, both for its sound and technology.
It was a full range dipole with a boost-stangen/air cushion-Bass and an Air-Motion-Transformer in the mid range region.
Out of respect to Dr Oskar Heil (1908–1994), we named our further development of the Oskar Heil full range dipole model “TransAr” too.
It is a modular system a “stacking” active bass with 4,6,8 or 12 drivers that also perform an air motion transformation, presenting a membrane surface area of up to 4200 square cms which can be driven actively by a PWM power amplifier with up to 2400 watts and a DSP.
